il collettivo
Common Wealth si insedierà in una residenza
creativa per tre settimane a Scheggia e Pascelupo,
in Umbria, nel cuore di un paesaggio boscoso e a
tratti coltivato, dove alcuni terreni, talvolta
dimenticati o abbandonati, si trasmettono di
generazione in generazione.
Il progetto raduna artisti e teorici di
nazionalità e orizzonti diversi: artisti visivi,
musicisti, fotografi, architetti, editori,
critici d’arte, geografi, giuristi ed
economisti. In un luogo di cambiamento sociale,
politico, economico e demografico, questo gruppo
si interrogherà in modo collettivo e inclusivo
sui temi del paesaggio (le sue usanze storiche e
potenziali e quello che possono ispirare o
rappresentare), sull’eredità (nel senso di
dono e controdono, nelle sue connessioni con la
responsabilità, con l’origine inevitabile)
e sulla trasmissione di saperi, di vissuti, di
modi di pensare. |

Common
Wealth si fa portatore di uno sguardo incrociato
tra Italia e Lussemburgo, paesi legati da una
storia comune di migrazioni e di racconti
familiari, e tenterà di reinterpretare un
paesaggio il cui senso e i cui valori sembrano
mutati. In questo contesto l’arte e il
pensiero teorico sono concepiti come un metodo
per l’analisi e la comprensione di un
territorio, uno strumento concreto di riflessione,
di scambio e
di valorizzazione.
La residenza si svolgerà dal
12 luglio al 4 agosto 2019. Le opere e le
ricerche realizzate saranno presentate per la
prima volta dal 2 al 4 agosto durante il fine-settimana
di apertura a Scheggia e Pascelupo e, in seguito,
in Lussemburgo. Le mostre sono accompagnate da un
programma di conferenze, concerti e laboratori.
Un catalogo racconterà l’esperienza del
collettivo e includerà i
saggi teorici. |
Cet
été, le collectif
« Common Wealth » s’installera en
résidence durant trois semaines à Scheggia e
Pascelupo, village d’Ombrie au paysage
boisé, occupé ou cultivé par endroits, dont
certains lopins, parfois oubliés ou délaissés,
se transmettent depuis des générations.
Ce projet réunit des artistes et théoriciens de
nationalités et d’horizons variés,
plasticiens, musiciens, photographes, archi tectes,
éditeurs, curateurs, géographes, juristes et
écono mistes. Dans un lieu en mutation
sociale, politique, économique et démographique,
ceux-ci réfléchiront de façon collective et
inclusive autour des thèmes du paysage (ses
usages anciens et potentiels, ce qu’il peut
inspirer ou symboliser), de l’héritage (au
sens du don et du contre-don, de la
responsabilité, de l’origine inévitable)
et de la transmission (des savoirs, des vécus,
des modes de pensée). |

Common
Wealth apportera un regard croisé entre le
Luxembourg et l’Italie, qui sont liés par
une histoire de migrations et de ré cits
familiaux, et tentera de réinterpréter un
paysage dont les valeurs et le sens semblent
changés. Dans ce contexte, les arts visuels et
la recherche sont pensés comme un moyen d’analyse
et de compréhension d’un territoire, et un
instrument concret de réflexion, d’échange
et de valorisation.
La résidence se déroulera du 12 juillet au 4
août 2019. Les tra vaux et recherches
réalisés seront exposés une première fois du
2 au 4 août durant le week-end d’ouverture
à Scheggia e Pascelupo et par la suite au
Luxembourg. Ces expositions seront accompagnées
de conférences, d’ateliers et de concerts.
Un cata logue relatera l’expérience du
collectif et inclura les essais théo riques. |
This
summer, the collective “Common Wealth”
will settle in residence for three weeks in
Scheggia e Pascelupo, a typical Umbrian village
in a wooded landscape, occupied or cultivated in
places, some plots being sometimes forgotten or
neglected, passed down for generations.
This project brings together artists and
theoreticians of va rious nationalities and
backgrounds, artists, musicians, photo graphers,
architects, publishers, curators, geographers,
jurists and economists. In a place of social,
political, economic and de mographic change,
they will think collectively and inclusively
about the themes of landscape (its old and
potential uses, what it can inspire or symbolize),
inheritance (in the sense of gift and counter-gift,
responsibility, inevitable origin) and
transmission (knowledge, experience,
ways of thinking). |

Common
Wealth will provide a cross perspective between
Luxembourg and Italy, which are linked by a
history of migra tions and family narratives,
and will attempt to reinterpret a landscape whose
values and meanings seem to have changed. In this
context, the visual arts and research are
conceived as a means of analysis and
understanding of a territory, and a concrete
instrument of reflection, exchange
and valorisation.
The residency will take place from July 12 to
August 4, 2019. Works and research will be
exhibited for the first time from August 2nd to 4th
during the opening weekend in Scheggia e
Pascelupo and later in Luxembourg. These
exhibitions will be accompanied by lectures,
workshops and concerts.
A catalogue will relate the experience of the
collective
and will include the
theoretical essays. |
